HALEY BONAR
Haley Bonar is twenty-four years old, and already on her fourth album. Her new album, Big Star, is a watershed moment for her—a record like a Cormac McCarthy short story: simple on the intake, but revealing universal truths with a powerful emotional impact as it sinks in. In the words of filmmaker Ali Selim (Sweet Land) "Her voice is an invitation to amazing places."

The album was recorded at the Terrarium in Minneapolis and mixed by noted engineer Tchad Blake (Tom Waits, The Bad Plus, Elvis Costello, Pearl Jam) who brings all of the subtle textures of the recordings to life. Haley played guitars, melotron and keyboards, and was joined by Chris Morrissey (Ben Kweller) on bass, Dave King (The Bad Plus) on drums, and Luke Anderson and Bill Mike on electric guitar. The album will be released June 10, 2008.

Bonar has toured with Andrew Bird, Mason Jennings, Mary Lou Lord, Richard Buckner, and Charlie Parr—domestically and internationally—as well as shared stages with Neko Case, Pedro the Lion, the Arcade Fire, and Wanda Jackson.

JOHN SOUTHWORTH
According to the New York Press "Southworth can remind you of dozens of great pop artists from the past and sound not like anything you've heard before." Part Wichita lineman, part chimney sweep, John is a truly original & eclectic performer. Over his rich and well-traveled journey, he has absorbed an astonishing amount of pop and folk music history - from Gilbert & Sullivan to Gilbert O’Sullivan – and crafts music that is utterly unique. His new record Yosemite features a collection of simple & magical songs filled with a gentle spirit, love of nature, and an unashamedly charmed imagination. John has cited AM oldie radio stations, bird songs, nursery rhymes and fairytales as key influences. Past releases include his debut Mars Pennsylvania, the Hawksley Workman produced Sedona Arizona, Banff Springs Transylvania (includes a duet with Mary Margaret O'Hara), and a limited run of Rose Milk Appalachia (EP), featuring imaginative interpretations of Sedona songs performed by a three-piece bluegrass band. 'Wonderful, sylvan, sprightly, uber-bolangaire, peculiar and smart!!" - Guy Maddin, acclaimed Canadian film maker

FAN MODINE
Fan Modine is the work of artist Gordon Zacharias. Fan Modien's most recent release "Homeland" is an album that combines rich and visual outsider-art with an acute pop awareness. Recorded with a rotating cast of musicians in 5 different points across the US, "Homeland" began as personal work songs while Gordon was working as a professional dog walker in downtown Manhattan. Production took place in a small studio in Chinatown and subsequently traveled to downtown Los Angeles, New Orleans, Western Massachusetts and North Carolina. During this time Gordon also lent his talents to bluegrass outfit Jim and Jennie, the New Orleans duo Hercules, the Essex Green and Joe Pernice for his Big Tobacco effort. . Upon first arriving in New York, Gordon released "Slow Road to Tiny Empire" as a limited edition 12" vinyl album on his own Phovsho label, selling store to store to independents such as Other Music and Etherea. Soon after Rykodisc re-released "Slow Road to Tiny Empire" on compact disc worldwide - prompting Magnet to declare Gordon "an elliptical and underrated genius." CMJ concurred hailing "Slow Road" as "the sort of stuff from which pixie dust is made."

Now located in Carrboro, NC, Gordon has recently completed basic tracks for a third Fan Modine LP.
